January 10
Denny McCoy will present his new book, “Day to Day,” at 5:30 p.m., at Pitzer’s Fine Arts, 13909 RR 12.
This book shows 60 drawings by the artist along with commentary by other artists, museum directors, including Becky Duval Reese, and an art dealer. Primarily a painter, McCoy draws daily as part of his artistic practice. The drawings, created from 2018 to 2023, are both impulsive and disciplined, with a good dollop of humor. Proceeds from book sales will benefit Rodney Bursiel’s Antarctic Expedition, True South 2025.
January 14 and 15
WinterNights Singer-Songwriter Showcase will be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Wimberley Playhouse, 150 Old Kyle Rd. (Doors open at 5:30.) For tickets and additional information, go to starsoverwimberley.org/winternights- workshop. Tickets are $50 for each night of the showcase.
January 15
The Hill Country Herb Society kicks off 2025 with a meeting, at 10 a.m. in their new permanent location in the meeting room at Emily Ann Theatre & Gardens, 1101 FM-2325, Wimberley. Elizabeth Price will give a presentation on simmer pots, instructing attendees as they assemble their own simmer pot bags to take home. She will also give a short talk, including showing the Herb of the Month. Visitors are welcome to join the meeting.
Herbal treats will be served at 9:30 a.m.
January 16
Warren Hood performs at Susanna’s Kitchen, 7:30 p.m., at the Wimberley United Methodist Church at the corner of RR12 and CR1492.
Tickets are $25. Cash or check only. Doors open at 7 and the concert begins at 7:30 pm.
Tamales, pizza, pie coffee and soft drinks are available for purchase.

42 Players meet Tuesdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to noon at the Wimberley Senior Citizens Center. Partners not necessary. A $1 donation supports coffee and snacks. Look for the Senior Center suite and entrance on the right side of the Wimberley Community Center.
Friday Night Bingo meets weekly at the VFW Post #6441, 401 Jacob’s Well Rd.

The Hill Country Unit of the Herb Society of America meets the third Wednesday of the month at the Wimberley Village Library, 400 FM 2325 and features guest speakers, educational programs, and hands-on activities that promote the use of herbs for health, cooking or home care.
