Concerned about potential new Woodcreek North development

Existentialism is a bad neighbor.

Existentialism is a bad neighbor.

We should talk about what’s happening in Woodcreek North. Scores of us have reached out to Wimberley Springs Partners for purchasing information about the “lot next door” and been ghosted by their local reps. We watched in horror as they literally wiped-out cedar stands during Golden Cheeked Warbler nesting season. And just last week, a fire began in the very area they’re clearing. We’re also told they’re actively negotiating with a buyer for a 1,000-lot development!

As residents, we’re keenly aware of summer water woes and this year is shaping up to be a dry one. Purchasing adjacent tracts for enlarging our yards is the best possible use of land. Little or no extra water burden and larger lot sizes, lead to peaceful coexistence with our human and animal neighbors. So why is Wimberley Springs Partners dissing current residents, preferring instead to profit by draining our beloved Jacob’s Well?

Our challenge as a community is to remain informed and combine efforts against threats to our way of life. It’s imperative we stand united against any excessive development, pressuring developers to do the right thing. Not all of them care about our community-as shredding trees readily proves.
