Community Thanksgiving

IN 2023, THE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DREW HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE FOR THE TRADITIONAL MEAL. PHOTOS BY TERESA KENDRICK

In what has been established as a Wimberley tradition, the 34th Annual Community Thanksgiving will take place November 28 at the Community Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the helm of the operation is Dave Lewis, longtime organizer of the event. He, along with many volunteers and support from the community and local businesses, create a welcoming place for singles, families and friends to partake in the Fall ritual of giving thanks over a traditional meal of turkey and dressing.

LEFT, LONGTIME ORGANIZER, DAVE LEWIS, IS SHOWN GREETING JANETTE BARLOW. ABOVE, VOLUNTEERS ARE LINED UP, READY TO SERVE. BELOW, SCOTT LORFING KEEPS THE TURKEYS WARM IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER KITCHEN.

Here are photographs from last year’s dinner in 2023.

To volunteer to cook, serve or deliver meals, contact organizer Dave Lewis at 512-923-5380. For those who can’t get out, the meal can be delivered to your home.
