Robert Moreman scholarship program launches new campaign

The Robert Moreman Memorial Scholarship is back with its annual program, rolling out the red carpet for aspiring artists and building trades students. Whether these young people are on their way to composing musical masterpieces, writing the next great American novel, creating innovative cuisines, designing artful websites or mastering the art of construction, the Wimberley community’s generosity can help them achieve their goals.

Over the past three years, the scholarship program has helped talented, driven, accomplished students like Jack Garrett, studying drama at New York University’s School of Arts, Emmett Cole, studying music production at Texas State University, Kinbe Perez, studying journalism and broadcasting at University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and Simon Ramirez, a music major at University of North Texas, realize their dreams.

The scholarship recipients, along with the 10 additional talented and inspiring scholarship award winners, are just a glimpse of how far a little support can go.

“We are all about giving students the tools they need to succeed, and the scholarship amounts are meant to be life changing,” said Carl Rabenaldt, president of WimberleyArts.org.

“Artists and skilled trades people are vital to our community and the world, and we want to make sure our future stars shine bright! We’re proud to celebrate creativity and craftsmanship alike.”

Scholarships are available to deserving students who demonstrate talent, commitment and who will be entering a university, community college or trade school.

To keep the momentum going, Wimberley-Arts.org is asking for the community’s help. They’re asking for donations and every dollar helps students turn their dreams into reality. To contribute, go to WimberleyArts.org/ scholarships. The deadline to contribute tax deductible donations is December 31, 2024, for awards presented in May of 2025.

Students who are graduating from Wimberley High School, the Katherine Anne Porter School, are a gap year student or are homeschooled in the 78676 zip code are urged to apply. The deadline to apply for the multiple scholarships valued at a minimum of $5000 each is April 15, 2025.
