The Texans brought home two gold balls this week with Wimberley winning a share of the district championship before winning the Bi-District Championship over Manor New Tech.
Wimberley won their first district championship in two years while the Texans continued their streak of winning in the first round of the playoffs.
The Texans captured a share of the district championship by beating the rival Canyon Lake Hawks 3-0 [25-15, 25-16, 25-15].
Senior Laney Hennessee led the team in kills with 11 followed by Junior Cameron Thames with eight. Juniors Lilli Sandoval and Addison Parks were tied for third in kills with six.
Junior Carson Peoples led the team in assists with 20 followed by junior Skylar Herring with 18.
Senior Rhagen Masur led the team in digs with 13 while sophomore Skyler Mears led the team in blocks with three. Masur also led the team in aces with four.
With the win, Wimberley captured a share of the district championship along with Davenport after both teams split their two district meetings with the Wolves winning the first game and the Texans winning the second.
For the playoffs, Wimberley was sent to the 4A Division 2 bracket along with Navarro while both Davenport and Fredericks- burg were sent to the 4A Division 1 bracket.
In the Bi-District round of the playoffs, Wimberley met the Manor New Tech Titans at San Marcos High School.
The Texans dominated the Titans to capture the Bi-District championship, winning 3-0 [25-6, 25-2, 25-1].
Hennessee led the team in kills with 16 while Peoples led the team in assists with 17. Herring and Addie Laney both led the team in aces with five.
On defense, Hennessee led the team in digs with six while Thames led the team in blocks with four.
Wimberley advances to the Area Round of the playoffs where the Texans will meet a familiar foe in the Cuero Gobblers. Both Wimberley and Cuero met earlier in the season with the Texans winning 3-0 [25-15, 25-22, 25-22].
Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. Thursday at Seguin High School.
