Early voting through November 1 Early voting and early voting polls will be open until November 1. Wimberley voting locations are the Texan Academy at the former Scudder Elementary school, 400 Green Acres Drive, and at the Community Center, Johnson Hall, 14068 RR12. Poll hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday; from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday; and on Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.

Honey Fest 2024, Friday, October 25, 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, October 26, noon to 7 p.m. at the Ponderosa Ranch, 1909 Coleman’s Canyon Road, in Wimberley. Classic Americana music. On Friday, six singer-songwriters will perform: Walt Wilkins, Bill Small, Elliot Rogers, David Byboth, Rose Gabriel and Susan Gibson. On Saturday, the Michael James Band, the Hill Country Ramblers, Los Gatos, the Hill Country Honeys and the Beat Root Revival will perform. Saturday’s silent auction will benefit the Wimberley Watershed Association. Food and vendors available. BYOB and bring a chair. The Katherine Anne Porter School’s ACE program is sponsoring a “Lights on Afterschool” rally from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at their campus, 515 FM2325. Lights on Afterschool is a nationally recognized program that highlights the importance of afterschool programs. The rally will include candies, treats, activities and prizes.

The Wimberley Lions Club invites area residents to a fun-filled afternoon 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th at the Market Day Pavilion. Lions are honoring volunteers who make Wimberley the “Little Bit of Heaven” that distinguishes our community. The celebration includes free hot dogs, chips and drinks served by School Yard Dogs. Local musician Bo Moore will provide the entertainment. Visitors can learn about volunteering opportunities that make a difference with local nonprofits and the Wimberley Lions.

42 Players meet Tuesdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to noon at the Wimberley Senior Citizens Center. Partners not necessary. A $1 donation supports coffee and snacks. The Wimberley Garden Club meets the second Wednesday at EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens meeting room, 9:30 to 11:30, September to May, to inspire and educate homeowners about gardening in the Texas Hill Country. The Hill Country Unit of the Herb Society of America meets the third Wednesday of the month at the Wimberley Village Library, 400 FM 2325 and features guest speakers, educational programs, and hands-on activities that promote the use of herbs for health, cooking or home care.
