This letter is in support of Gloria Whitehead, Eric Eskelund, and William (Bill) Scheel. The City Woodcreek has three council seats open and six candidates. I appreciate each person’s willingness to run. However, the experience and qualifications are not equal. Whitehead, Eskelund, and Scheel are all former mayors. Under their leadership, Woodcreek was run on a sensible budget and within budget. That is not the case under the currently aligned majority. A review of the financial statements posted on the City of Woodcreek website shows the Unassigned General Fund Balance decreased from $1,364,149 in 2021 to $122,979 in 2023.
That is a $1,241,170 decrease in the balance! Woodcreek went from two years of general fund average expenditure balance in 2021 to one month in 2023.
What has happened to our money?
At the rate of spending under the current leadership, Woodcreek will be bankrupt by the end of 2025. We need qualified leadership that will responsibly use our tax dollars and keep Woodcreek in the black. Vote Whitehead, Eskelund and Scheel.
Karen Poe, Woodcreek Resident
