Public education is one of the foundations of our country. Education prepares our children to be contributing members of society. Education enables the United States to compete with other countries around the world. Lyndon Baines Johnson, 36th President of the United States, was an educator before he became a Senator, and then President. He famously said, “Education is the only valid passport out of poverty.”
All of those are reasons that I am voting for Lindsey Deringer for Place 2 on the WISD School Board. She is the ONLY candidate with experience in public education: 10 years as a public -school teacher; 10 years of collaborating with her peers; 10 years of interfacing with parents, 10 years of listening to school board members; 10 years of relating to heads of departments and to the principals under whom she taught. With 3 children of her own who are enrolled in WISD, she has spent MORE than 10 years of listening and caring for children.
Lindsey says, “I think that one of the most important jobs of a trustee is to kindly listen to all of the constituents. Once elected, I will be able to thoughtfully consider all opinions and make decisions for what is best for the entire district. As a trustee I will be able to work well with others, even those that have different beliefs and opinions. There is great value in being able to consider different opinions. Our differences make us all better and push us towards positive change.”
I’m voting for Lindsey. She not only has knowledge…but she also has wisdom!
Sandra Londa, During this very important upcoming election it is important to remember that local politics differ from national politics. Local politics concern themselves with the safety and security of the residents as well as their quality and way of life.
In Support of Neidhardt, Hammer, and Hipolito
With local politics it is about who is the best qualified candidate for the job, is willing to work the hardest, and has the energy to see the job through. With these criteria in mind, there are three easy choices for me.
Judge Tanner Neidhardt, candidate for 483rd District Judge, has made Hays County safer by running a court with efficiency, fairness and transparency. In his first year, he tried more than twice the number of cases of the local district court average, which has brought down a heavy backlog. Judge Tanners background fits the needs of our trial court: he has handled over 150 jury trials, serve Texas as a prosecutor, teaches at TXST and UT Law, and was a Fulbright Scholar. Vote down the ballot for Tanner Neidhardt for an efficient and fair judge who is making Hays County safer.
Morgan Hammer, candidate for Hays County Commissioner Precinct 3, is an intelligent, energetic and hard-working Texas State graduate. Morgan, from her website, Hammer for Hays, has the endorsement of Hays County Law Enforcement Association along with current and former county commissioners. Morgan, a tenyear resident of Hays County, decided to run to make this a better and safer place to raise her young daughter. Morgan stresses her positions are: 1-public safety, 2-water conservation, 3-emergency services. I trust Morgan with her financial background and energetic nature to be involved in maintaining our roads, managing our growth and overseeing a fair budget while moderating taxes. Those things have not happened here in Wimberley.
Anthony Hipolito, candidate for Sheriff, based on experience and credentials is clearly the only choice for Sheriff. On Anthony’s website, Anthony Hipolito for Sheriff, he notes “he has devoted the last 26 years to law enforcement in the Central Texas area.” Anthony has experience in every aspect of law enforcement and has the integrity to be a fair-minded Sheriff. Anthony serves in Community Outreach and has brought the message about the substantial increase in Fentanyl poisonings to Hays County residents. Anthony states, “As your next Sheriff, I look forward to serving EVERYONE with honesty, integrity, respect and fairness.”
