At its regular meeting on September 16, the Wimberley Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Michael Doyle as the district’s new Chief Financial Officer. Doyle replaces Moises Santiago, who accepted the CFO position at Manor ISD in August.
“I am extremely pleased that we have been able to recruit a candidate of Mr. Doyle’s caliber to serve as our Chief Financial Officer. The current state of Texas public school finance is both challenging and complex,” said Dr. Bonewald, WISD superintendent.
“The experience and expertise that Mr. Doyle brings to this role will be a tremendous asset in supporting the excellence our leadership team strives to provide for our students, staff and families.”
Doyle comes to Wimberley from San Marcos Consolidated ISD, where he was the Executive Director of Business and Finance. While at San Marcos CISD he also served as director of state and federal programs and director of career and technical education. Prior to his time in San Marcos, was an agriscience teacher at New Caney ISD. He is also active with the Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas professional organization and has served in various leadership roles.
He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 and completed his master’s degree in 2004 from Texas State University. He lives in Wimberley with his wife Kathleen, son J.T. and daughter Mae. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family.
Doyle says he is looking forward to joining the Business and Finance team at WISD. “I am excited for the opportunity to join the district and serve the students, parents, staff and community of WISD,” he said.
