Art League hosts 2024 annual Wimberley studio tour

Art League hosts 2024 annual Wimberley studio tour

The village of Wimberley, located between Austin and San Antonio in the Texas Hill Country, provides inspiration to a remarkable variety of artists. From new, emerging talent to the nationally acclaimed, many of these artists are members of the Wimberley Valley Art League.

On September 28 and 29, the WV Art League’s annual studio tour will take place. Outstanding Hill Country artists will open their creative inner sanctums to visitors and collectors to reveal fine art and individual creative processes.

Visitors are invited to meet the artists and learn about their artistic journeys. They can expect to see work in a full range of media—oil, acrylic, sculpture, fiber, assemblage, photography, metal, jewelry, paper and ceramic.

Featured on the tour this year are Peggy Weiss, Kathy Utts, Jim Street, Warren Cullar, Shelley Esser, Jeff and Leigh Peterson, Diane Lunow and Trisha McWaters. In the studio with Trisha McWaters are visiting artists Billielee Mommer, Martha Gibson and Jan Fitzhugh.

The self-guided tour is free. On Saturday, September 28, studios will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Studio maps and additional information are available at wimberleyvalleyartleague. org. For further information call 713-5695173.
