September 19

Josh Winkler, film producer, outdoor professional and conservation advocate will speak on “The Power of Conservation Media in Texas,” 7 to 8 p.m. at the Wimberley Library, 400 FM 2325. Social time at 6:30 p.m.

September 20, 21 and 22 The Wimberley Players continues their run of “Now & Then,” a romantic dramedy, 7:30 p.m., 150 Old Kyle Rd. The play’s ever- thickening plot unfolds as a mysterious gentleman enters a bar late one evening and makes a young couple an offer they find irresistable. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays 7:30 p.m., Sundays 2:30 p.m., through October 6. Tickets are $25, $20 for students with ID at wimberleyplayers.org

September 21

Sixth annual Wimberley Pride March, 7 p.m., from its starting point at the Visitor’s Center at 280 Old Kyle Road, through downtown Wimberley, to the Oak Park and Welcome Center at 109 Oak Drive. Evening before events on Friday night include a Pride Shirt Promo at Budaful Hiker from 4 to 6 p.m. With the purchase of a Wimberley Pride t-shirt, participants receive a free beer at Middleton Brewing. The 220 Fine Art Gallery launches “Old & New Again,” a juried show of Hill Country artists with an opening reception, 4 to 7 p.m., 220 Old Kyle Rd. Through November 2. More at [email protected] Star Wars in the Park at Blue Hole Regional Park in the swim area, 333 Blue Hole Ln., 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to come in costume to make lightsabers, play Star Wars-themed games and watch the film, “The Force Awakens.”

A Texas Watershed Steward workshop on the Cypress Creek and Blanco River watersheds will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center, 14068 RR12, and is open to anyone interested in improving the region’s water quality. Free to attend.

A “Monday Morning Mixer” meets at the Community Center, 14068 RR12, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. to view the new art exhibit and share refreshments and conversation. No registration required.

The Hill Country Unit of the Herb Society of America meets the third Wednesday of the month at the Wimberley Village Library, 400 FM 2325 and features guest speakers, educational programs, and hands-on activities that promote the use of herbs for health, cooking or home care.

Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group meets the first Thursday in the Presbyterian Church Library, 956 FM 2325, 12:45 to 2 p.m. For caregivers who are caring for a loved one with dementia. Contact Linda Germain, Volunteer for Alzheimer’s Texas, at 512-924-3661.
