Dodge, duck, dip and dive for charity

Wimberley Good Neighbor’s Level Up program is presenting a costume dodgeball tournament on Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wimberley High School Texan gym, 100 Carney Lane.

Adult teams will compete against each other for prizes and bragging rights for the best team costume to help WISD kids with school and school-related costs, including tutor fees, summer camp, sports equipment and fees, college prep, band uniforms and other expenses.

Calling the plays will be KWVH’s General Manager, Tim Kiesling. Lead referee Casper Maile and referees from the Wimberley Boxing Club will make sure competitors toe the line. DJ Gonzo as Wolfman Jack, will be playing favorite tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Jake’s famous mouthwatering pulledpork barbecue sliders and other treats like tacos and donuts will be available to keep fans cheering.

Watch as the Ballbarians, the Ballerinas, Balls to the Wall, Daj Mabal, the Floss Bosses, Dodge Dynasty, the Donut Dodgers, Firehouse Fools, and Dodge, Duck, Chill teams battle for supremacy.

For $5 at the door, fans can watch the play unfold. Fans aged 17 and under get in free. To sponsor a team call 512-648-4400. To learn more about Wimberley Good Neighbor and the tournament, visit wimberleygoodneighbor.
