Online registration for adult courses at projectArt opens today at projectartwimberley.org under the Camps & Classes button. Adult courses include Floral Design & Mindfulness Workshop, Ceramics - Session A, and Life Drawing Drop-in Class. Classes are held at ARTSPACE, 111 River Road, Suite 100.

Silo Gallery and Glass Studios celebrate their 10 year anniversary with a Family Fun Weekend from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., 7990 RR12. Activities include studio tours, a selfie booth, kids activities and prizes, live music by the Marvin and Laura Bottera Trio as well as free food and 10% off gallery purchases.

September 5

Wimberley Arts launches its first Art Crawl September 5 at 5 p.m. Local galleries and businesses stay open late for art lovers and include special art events, food and entertainment. Participating galleries are Wildflower Art Gallery, Art on 12, Pitzer’s Fine Art Gallery, Rodney Bursiel Gallery, Hill Country Collectables, 220 Fine Art Gallery, Wimberley Valley Art League Gallery, projectART’s ARTSPACE Gallery and Silo Gallery & Glass Studio. Local businesses Casa Turquesa, My Happy Place, Shelter, Ceremony, and Mission Day Spa will be open late in support of Art Crawl. Participating venues will be marked with the distinctive Art Crawl flag, and there will be transport to help participants get around. Visitors can expect different things at each gallery or business, including guest artists, special displays, demonstrations, and refreshments. Art Crawl hosts will hand out cards for visitors to check off each place they visit, and those who visit more than five will be entered into a drawing to win some terrific prizes.

The Adult Craft LAB is a year-round tinker and craft program for adults 18 and up organized by the Wimberley Valley Library. Classes are held via Zoom on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Farmers and Artisan market, a community-based endeavor that specializes in fresh foods from growers and welcomes art, craft and other vendors is held Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Cowboy Church, 120 Green Acres Drive.

Overeaters Anonymous, Wimberley Chapter, meets 7 p.m., second and fourth Mondays at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church, 956 RR2325.

MONTHLY EVENTS

Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group, is held the first Thursday each month in the Presbyterian Church Library, 956 FM 2325 from 12:45 to 2 p.m. Designed for caregivers to meet with others who are caring for a loved one with dementia.

The Jacob’s Well Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution meets in Wimberley every second Monday to pursue historic preservation, patriotism and education in service to the community. For information, email [email protected].

The Wimberley Valley Quilt Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church at 956 RR2325.
