Wimberley, Woodcreek present concert and fireworks show

The cities of Wimberley and Woodcreek collaborated to present the first annual Wimberley Valley Fireworks Show at the VFW Hall Rodeo arena on July 4. The concert featured Bob Livingston of the famed Lost Gonzo Band and Bradley Kopp, a fireworks show and a costume contest for children aged 12 and under sponsored by the City of Woodcreek.

The Best Dressed Lil Firecracker drew a large number of contestants eager to show off their patriotic gear. Woodcreek mayor Jeff Rasco, Wimberley mayor Jim Chiles, and Wimberley city council members Tim Patek and Rebecca Minnick served as judges and wranglers, aided by Ginger Chiles. The first place winner won six box seats for Saturday’s VFW Rodeo performance and a VIP parking pass.
