Let’s Rodeo

Get ready to rodeo at the Wimberley VFW Rodeo on Friday July 5, Saturday July 6, and Sunday July 7. Gates open all days at 5:30 p.m., followed by the first round of mutton bustin’ at 7 p.m. The rodeo begins each evening at 8 p.m. with an opening ceremony that includes the Lone Star Cowgirls flag presentation.

The annual VFW Rodeo program is included inside this edition of the Wimberley View. See bareback riding and saddle bronc, steer wrestling, women’s breakaway roping, tie down calf roping, team roping, women’s barrel racing and bull riding events. A mid-rodeo mutton bustin’ and calf scrambles for kids and adults are part of the fun.

On Sunday, a grand finale fireworks show, sponsored by Richard Scott, begins at 10 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for kids aged four to 12 years and available at the gate. Children three and under are free.

General admission parking for the general public is at gate #1, the gate nearest to Ranch Road 12. Reserved parking is at gate #4, nearest to the VFW Hall. A color- coded reserved parking pass is required. Rodeo Contestant Parking is at gate #7.
