Wimberley developing Resilient Comprehensive Master Plan

The City of Wimberley is developing a new Resilient Comprehensive Master Plan to guide the city’s growth and development over the next 10-20 years. It will focus on strategies to make Wimberley more sustainable, equitable and resilient to future challenges.

The plan will address topics such as land use, housing, economic development, parks and recreation, arts and culture, and sustainability, with a focus on resilience. It will build on existing city initiatives related to water conservation, bike and pedestrian improvements, stormwater management and other vital topics.

“We are excited about creating a bold new vision for Wimberley’s future,” said Mayor Jim Chiles. “This plan will focus on enhancing our economic prosperity, improving infrastructure, preserving our natural resources and strengthening the health, safety, and quality of life for all our residents.”

The process will also assess demographic trends, market conditions, climate risks and other factors that will shape the city’s trajectory. Wimberley has contracted with Langford Community Management Services, Inc. to assist with the development of the comprehensive plan. The project is expected to take 18-24 months to complete.

Residents are invited to participate in a survey at surveymonkey. com/r/WimberleyRCP that will guide planners about the topics of greatest interest to residents. Citizens may also scan the included QR Code to complete the survey.
