Memorial Day Rodeo recap

Memorial Day Rodeo recap

The Memorial Day Open Pro Rodeo held in the VFW Arena last weekend proved to be an exciting event as a bronco rider was pitched over the fence and thrown into the stands. He emerged unhurt, gamely waving his hat to show that he was not injured. During the bull riding event, a bullfighter whose job it is to distract the bull after the ride, was tossed in the air by the bull. He also escaped unhurt. Another highlight was diminutive barrel racer, Kylie Rui, who rode a very fast horse around the barrels in a short 16.7 seconds. Brought by the Lester Meier Rodeo Company, the rodeo is the main fundraiser for the local Wimberley 4H Club.
