City elects new mayor and city council members

The city of Wimberley will have a new mayor and two new councilmembers.

Robert Clark edged out Jim Jones to win the Place Four seat, though the results are still unofficial until they are canvassed by the city.

Clark won a close race over Jim Jones for Place Four on the Wimberley City Council. Clark received 223 votes, representing 51.03%. Jones received 214 votes, 48.97%. There were 437 ballots cast in the race and four undervotes. A total of 441 cast for the entire city of Wimberley election.

Jim Chiles will be the new mayor. He ran unopposed and received 323 votes. Bo Bowman will be the Place Two City Councilmember. He also ran unopposed and received 309 total votes.

There were a total of 2,434 registered voters in the city of Wimberley. The 441 votes cast represent 18.12% of the vote. There were 18 absentee ballots cast, 307 early votes and 116 on election day.

The remainder of the city council is the same. Rebecca Minnick will remain as Place One, Chris Sheffield in Place Three and David Cohen in Place Five. All three of their terms will be up for election next year.
