Bo Bowman running unopposed for City Council Place 2

I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the City again as a Councilman. I enjoyed my first term several years ago, and I’ve decided to throw my hat in the ring again for another opportunity. While family and work responsibilities pulled me away after my first term, I tried to maintain a connection to City government. Over the past two and a half years, I have served on both the Ethics Committee and the Transportation Advisory Board. I couldn’t be prouder of all the progress the City has made over the last five years: new bathrooms, better parking options, new signage and a working sewer system in the downtown area have all improved life here in Wimberley.

Even with all of these accomplishments, I still think that some challenges lie ahead for the City. Perhaps the biggest challenge is going to be managing traffic. We all know that our region is growing quickly, and traffic levels have increased dramatically over the last seven to eight years. Our City’s road system is aging and will continue to require significant investment and effort to keep them safe, smooth, and pothole free. In addition, we need to continue the good working relationship the City has with both the state and county to finish major road and sidewalk projects that are currently in the planning and construction stages.

My parents and family have enjoyed being here so much for the last ten years. I have been fortunate enough to have worked at the Kathryn Ann Porter School and Wimberley High School during our stay here. I hope that my experience as a Navy veteran, Baylor University graduate, South Texas College of Law graduate, as well as 25 years of teaching experience can be put to good use on the City Council.

Sincerely, William H. “Bo” Bowman III
