City Council Place 4 Candidate Robert Clark

Robert “Bob” Clark has filed to run for Wimberley City Council, Place 4. The election will be held May 4th.

Clark is currently serving on Wimberley’s Planning & Zoning (P&Z) Commission and has been involved in the Wimberley community since he and his wife, Theresa, moved here full-time in 2019. Over the years prior to moving here the Clarks’ family vacations and holidays were spent in Wimberley visiting family who lived here.

“We always enjoyed the Hill Country and knew we wanted to end up here,” Clark said. “We love the small-town feel. I think those are the things that have drawn us all to this town.”

As a member of P&Z, Clark’s role is to provide for the orderly development of property within the corporate and ETJ of the City of Wimberley in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan.

As a Council member, Clark said his focus will be on completing a new Comprehensive Plan for the City, which has recently been initiated, thanks to a $300,000 grant from the Texas General Land Office. “This will be the data- driven blueprint for Wimberley’s future,” he said.

“Upgrading roads and managing traffic are a big concern that we need to address,” he added.

Clark is an Associate Member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society which serves those in Wimberley needing assistance with food, rent or mortgage, gas, medical bills, prescriptions and utilities.

Clark founded Clark, Malone & Associates, Inc., and served as President for nearly 30 years. The company provided service, training and expertise to the full range of vendors in the food service industry. His career path included sales and commercial kitchen design. In addition to working in the Engineering Department for the City of Middleton, Wisconsin, he served in the Tactical Support Wing of the Wisconsin National Guard.

The parents of three children, the Clarks have three grandchildren.
