Hays County Master Gardeners Spring Plant and Tree Sale

Hays County Master Gardeners will hold their Spring Plant and Tree Sale March 18 through March 27. Online sales begin March 18 and end March 26. In-person sales and plant pick up times are on March 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Buda Downtown Greenspace and Gazebo, and on March 27, 3 to 6 p.m. at the Dripping Springs Farmers Market.

The sale will feature trees, spring and summer vegetables and herbs, as well as Texas native and adapted plants and perennials for xeriscapes, landscapes, and butterfly and hummingbird gardens. These include Texas Superstars, ornamental grasses and sedges, ground covers and succulents perfect for the Hill Country climate. Many are propagated by Hays County Master Gardeners and selected specifically for the environment in our area of the state.

The online sale link, hcmga.square.site, will be activated March 18 and be live until March 26. Online purchases can be picked up at the in-person shopping locations on March 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Buda, and on March 27, from 3 to 6 pm in Dripping Springs. Texas Master Gardeners is a volunteer service program designed to bring best horticultural practices to county residents. They assist in school garden and horticultural therapy projects, community and demonstration gardens and conduct gardening education and discussion programs.

To become a Texas Master Gardener, trainees attend a minimum of 50 hours of instruction conducted through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, then share this knowledge by donating 50 hours of volunteer service back to the community.
