The band, 5 O’Clock Somewhere, is performing a tribute show and dance to Steely Dan and Fleetwood Mac on March 9, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center. In conjunction with Wimberly Parks and Recreation, the five-member band will play two sets, one featuring songs by Steely Dan and, the other, featuring songs by Fleetwood Mac with vocals and harmonies by Mindy Carnutt of the Hill Country Honeys.
Formed six years ago, the band is made up of seasoned Austin musicians Thomas Shaw on keyboards and vocals, Sam Taylor on guitar and vocals, Ben Aiken on bass, Greg Hammer on drums and John Imperial on harmonica and vocals. The band members have been playing original music and cover tunes individually for a number of years.
The band enjoys standing gigs at the Hays City Store and are frequent performers at wineries, nightclubs and private parties. In 2023 they performed three popular Eagles tribute shows. The performance on March 9 is their second time to team with Wimberley Parks and Rec. They are poised to release an EP this Spring.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door, by card only, and it is a BYOB event, however glass containers are not allowed. The Community Center is located at 14068 RR12.
