On Tuesday, The Texans (15-11) traveled to Bandera to take on the Bulldogs (16-12) in a district matchup that saw the Wimberley Texans come up short, losing 62-47. This game moved the Bulldogs into the fourth place spot in districts and put the Texans in the fifth place spot. Only the top four teams advance to the playoffs.

The Texans are known for hustle and grit and are willing to outwork whomever they play but struggled to do so in this game as they got beat on the rebound side, 39-31. The Texans also struggled offensively with only one player touching double digits and finished the game with 47 points.

Kaegan Davis led the Texans in scoring with 10 points and Gavin Olmer led the way in rebounds, for a total of 12.

On Friday, the Texans had a chance to defend home court with another team in a district matchup and hold on to the fourth place spot but were unable to do so as they fell to the Boerne Greyhounds (24-5) 71-57. Boerne currently holds the first place spot in the district with a perfect 7-0 record.

In the first quarter, both teams had a good start. After the first quarter, the Greyhounds had a small lead at 22-16.

In the second quarter, the Texans were able to hold Boerne to just 10 points, however were unable to capitalize as they had a slow offensive quarter and just cut into the lead by two points as they saw themselves go down by four at halftime.

In the third, the Greyhounds blew the lid off and outscored the Texans by 10 points. They were up by 14 going into the final quarter.

In the fourth, the Texans desperately needed to recover, but Boerne slowed the game down and evenly played the Texans throughout the fourth quarter to take the game 71-57.

Holden Crawford led the Texans in scoring with 18 points, Paul Gumbert followed him with 16 points and 6 rebounds.

The Texans will now go on the road to take on the Navarro Panthers (7-17) at 6:30 on Tuesday. The first time the Texans saw the Panthers, the Texans won 63-52. The Panthers are still looking for their first district win and the Texans are approaching must-win territory as they are currently one game out of the playoffs with the season quickly coming to an end.
