According to the National Weather service, another Arctic front will move across our area late Thursday night into Friday. Due to minimal moisture, no precipitation is expected on Friday and Saturday. Although it appears that it will not be as cold as the previous Arctic air mass, a hard freeze is still expected Friday night and Saturday morning. On Sunday there is a 30% chance of showers, increasing to a 50% chance by evening. More showers are likely on Monday, next week.

Citizens are advised that it is still not too late to take cold weather precautions. Keep pets indoors as they are susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia, as are humans. Protect tender plants from the cold and prevent freezing and the possible bursting of outdoor water pipes by either wrapping them, draining them or allowing them to drip slowly. In-ground sprinkler systems should be drained. Above-ground pipes should be covered to protect them from freezing.
