Get a fresh start to 2024 with the Polar Bear Plunge and 5K run at Blue Hole Regional Park, January 1st. The event ushers in the New Year with a combination of fitness and fun. The 5K route begins at Blue Hole, winds through downtown Wimberley and concludes with an exhilarating plunge into the crisp waters of Cypress Creek. The festivities include music, food and drink vendors, games, prizes and a warming fire pit.
“Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a daring polar bear plunger, or a newbie to this brand of Blue Hole amusement, there’s something for everyone to enjoy,” said Richard Shaver, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Wimberley. “Be sure to bring a change of clothes!”
Registration is $35 per person in advance or $45 on the day of the event. Online registration is at wimberleyparksandrec. com. Registration includes admission to the 5K, a commemorative event t-shirt, drink tickets, and a swag bag.
