Members of the 12 Kings Car Club, popular sponsors of Wimberley Coffee and Cars and other car show events in the area, gathered to present a check to the Crisis Bread Basket last week alongside representatives from Ozona Bank, Caroline Adams and Daina Slover. More than a dozen members of the lively social and car club were on hand to present the $4,000 check.
Joe Morris, CBB Board Chair, accepted the money saying, “Since 1986, Wimberley Crisis Bread Basket has relied upon our community’s ongoing support to serve our neighbors-in-need. We are very grateful for the 12 Kings Car Club’s generous donation again this year.”
The donation was part of the “Turkeys on 12” giving campaign in which Ozona Bank matched funds raised by the car club and other organizations to augment their gifts to the Crisis Bread Basket.
One of the organization’s goals, the car club will be handing out donations to other organizations throughout the month. Recently, to thank the Brookshire Brothers for their support over the years, the club gave $500 to Brookshire Brothers’ favorite charity, Amigos de Jesus.
Established in 1986 as a nonprofit, the CBB food pantry distributes food twice a week to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. For information about their services or to donate, consult crisisbreadbasket. org.
