WAG receives check from Saori Weavers

Sure to help with veterinary fees associated with a new crop of puppies, Saori weaver Kathy Utts handed over a check for more than $3,000 to the Executive Director of the Wimberley Adoption Group and Rescue, Pat Davis, next to their boot at the group’s shop, Treasures on Twelve.

“We are totally elated! This will go towards the care of ten puppies recently born in our care for shots, spaying and neutering services,” said Davis who is one of the group’s founders. “Last year we received a donation from Kathy Utts and the Texas Freestyle Textile Retreat that was half this amount. This is over the top generous!”

Utts, who co-organized the textile retreat, has been a friend to Davis and the WAG organization for years. The donations from the November event, she said, were helped by early voting by locals at the community center.

“People opened their pocketbooks to WAG while they visited the polling area,” said Utts. “They were very generous. Coupled with our successful retreat, we were able to give more than last year. We are so proud to do so.”
