At this time of year, we reflect on the year’s bounty and events. We all give thanks in our own ways. At KWB, we are thankful for many things. The recent rain has greened up the area and added much needed water back into our waterways and aquifers. We are hopeful that we will be able to get out soon and consider new plantings. One project will be the area by the Wimberley Square sign, giving it some care after the recent rebuild of the wall.
We are thankful to our volunteers for all the projects they do in the community; as well as all of you that are keeping areas clean and beautified. Also, thanks to our community partners including Ozona Bank who generously co-sponsored the recent Shred It day. We would not have been able to accomplish it without Scout Troop 127 and the Constables of Precinct 3.
Décor will now be transitioning from Fall to Winter and pumpkins shall be exiting as twinkling lights and holiday cheer arrives. We love that many of you “recycled” and gave pumpkins to local farms to give treats to their animals. KWB will be redecorating the bridge, Welcome Signs and Martha’s Park after Thanksgiving. If you want to help, email keepwimberleybeauti-ful@ gmail.com Let me finish with this…. What are you thankful for? A friend of mine passed on a practice that he does with his kids every evening. He asks them to tell him three things that they are grateful for that day. Regardless of what has happened, focusing on even one thing is a positive way to end a day. Give it a go.
Final thanks to Dave Foye Lewis and his band of volunteers for the Wimberley Community Thanksgiving Dinner. This tradition encompasses the spirit of this community. Today, you are one of my three things.
