With the year’s last supermoon blazing overhead, KWVH’s Casino Night at Rancho Mirando in Fischer proved to be a hit.

More than 200 guests ponied up for the chance to go head to head with the elusive Lady Luck. Blackjack, roulette, craps, poker and other games of chance offered wagerers the chance to win one of many raffle prizes. The more gamers won at the tables, the better their chance to win top prizes of twonight stays in Rockport (next to George Strait’s beach house); Hot Springs, AR; or Spoon Mountain Glamping in Wimberley.

The Hot Springs stays were hotly contested. Two couples teamed up and each put all of their winnings in one of the Hot Springs raffles with the proviso that the winners would invite the other couple. Their strategy worked, and they claimed one of the luxurious two-night stays.

Perhaps the luckiest guests of the evening were Anggay Tenney — who won $1,000 in the cash raffle — and her companion for the evening, Corey Hutchins, who won the Build-A-Bar raffle. KWVH Board Member Marian Cones walked away with the winners package raffle filled with liquor company swag.

The casino games were managed by Black Tie Casino Parties of Seguin. To improve gamers’ understanding, KWVH offered classes earlier in the week to teach the ins and outs of craps. On the drinks menu was the party’s signature cocktail, the “Radio Royale,” served at the pre-event cocktail party.

Casino guests, including General Manager Tim Kiesling, sampled cigars sponsored by the Wimberley Valley Cigar Lounge.

Casino Night cochair Becky Mc-Cullough said, “We had a great group of KWVH volunteers. They ran the entire event from set up, parking and checkin to bartending and all the way to clean up. They were phenomenal.”
