Wimberley High School’s volleyball team notched another win last week as the Lady Texans swept the Boerne High School Greyhounds 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-14). The victory gives the Lady Texans 23 wins for the season and improves their district record to 3-1 overall.
The first set was a foreshadowing of what was to come as the Texans rolled to a 25-10 win. Boerne came out swinging in the second set to make things competitive, but it wasn’t enough. Wimberley once again won the set at 25-18.
The Lady Texans rallied to a dominant finish in the third taking both the set and the match at 2514.
Laney Hennessee led Wimberley in kills with 15 followed by Lilli Sandoval with five. Addison Parks was third with four kills. Parks also led the team in both aces and blocks with three and five.
Rhagen Masur led the defensive charge with nine digs, followed by Skylar Herring with eight. Addie Laney rounded out the top three with six digs.
Wimberley returns to the action — following a day off on Friday, Sept. 22 — when the Lady Texans host the Navarro High School Panthers on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The Lady Texans will be back at home again Friday, Sept. 29 as they host rival Canyon Lake High School.
