A local luau raises funds to help Maui Relief efforts

For three years, Alexis Pointe has enjoyed hula performances and tropical fare with their annual Luau Family Night, but this year, the event meant much more.

For three years, Alexis Pointe has enjoyed hula performances and tropical fare with their annual Luau Family Night, but this year, the event meant much more.

Residents and families used this opportunity to help families devastated by the recent wildfires in Maui. Residents had a great time seeing authentic hula performances, many learning the dance themselves. They also enjoyed a Hawa iian-inspired feast courtesy of Alexis Pointe’s culinary team. “Though we had a great time celebrating, we also wanted to take this opportunity to unite in support of the many who have lost so much in Maui,” shares Community Relations Director Katy Starr.

The community chose to support the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement’s Kāko’o Maui Fund, which is helping to provide shelter, food, financial assistance, and other services in Maui.
