The next Wimberley Market Day will offer several exciting additions to Lions Field.
The upcoming Market Day on Saturday, Aug. 5, is expected to bring additional customer service and entertainment for the monthly event. This is thanks to the Lions Club’s recent investment: six-passenger carts.
“These are being used to take people from the parking lot to the gates if the customer needs assistance,” Lions Club President Frank Curtis said. “If a person is disabled, and the handicapped parking spots are taken, a cart would follow their car to a Lions’ parking lot, and then take them to the Market Day Gates.”
In addition to the much-needed cart service, August’s Market Day will feature two new musical acts. Bo Moore and the Back Forty will entertain shoppers and vendors alike with their brand of Texan swing. Bringing a soulful and jazzy vibe to market are pianist, Curtis Brengle, and vocalist, Julie Raginn, who perform as Pear Duo. Also gracing one of the three stages will be Monte Good, who performs his signature honkytonk sound at MD several times a year.
Starting at 11 a.m. until about 1 p.m., Bo Moore and the Back Forty will headline the Pavilion stage. Pear Duo Will play at the Shady Grove stage, and Monte Good will play at the Hilltop stage.
Wimberley Market Day is held on the first Saturday of each month, rain or shine. August’s shopping hours are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lions Field is located off FM 2325, about a mile from the Wimberley Square. The $5 donation accepted at the Lions Club’s parking lots helps to fund the various grants and scholarships distributed by the Wimberley Lions Club.
