Cinda Donovan of the Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance has announced the return of the Wimberley Valley Film Festival.
Slated for October 14 at the Wimberley Community Center, the festival will feature all things Texas. The all-day event will screen works by filmmakers in three age categories: adults, aged 20 and older; teens, aged 14 to 19 years; and children, aged eight to 13 years. Films made by Texans, about Texas, or filmed by a Texan in any remote location are eligible for consideration.
Entries will be screened and judged in various locations throughout Wimberley by film industry pros, and finalists will be notified in early October.
Monetary prizes will be awarded for winners in each category. People’s Choice awards will be awarded following audience input.
Children and adults who want to enter a film should submit their application through Film Freeway: filmfreeway. com/wimberleyvalleyfilmfestival.
Films cannot be longer than 12 minutes or contain explicit content. The entry fees are $10 for kids and teens and $40 for adults. The deadline for entering is September 15.
Additional details and tickets will be available soon at wimberleyarts.org/ wimberleyvalleyfilmfestival and on the Wimberley Valley Film Festival Facebook page.
