Construction operations at the intersection of Winters Mill Parkway and RM 3237 may finally be coming to a close this week after months of work.
The Hays County project added turn lanes for those turning off of and onto westbound 3237 and recently installed a traffic signal at the intersection — though it is not yet operational. Once complete, the intersection is intended to provide a safer junction for traffic coming in and out of Wimberley, as well as a slowing point for drivers headed into the city. As part of its last steps, the contractor for the project is scheduled to begin nighttime final paving operations on both Winters Mill Parkway and RM 3237.
Originally scheduled for this past Sunday, May 14, the paving was delayed due to weather concerns. It has been rescheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 16, and continue for 2–3 nights between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., according to the county.
“We are monitoring the weather situation, and if this schedule changes, we will provide an update on this FB page,” Hays County posted on its Facebook page.
Paving will be done on portions of Winters Mill Parkway and on the length of RM 3237 within the intersection project limits. One travel lane in each direction will be maintained during the paving operations.
