The Wimberley Village Library is raffling off a quilt for its spring fundraiser, hoping to raise money for needed items amidst its expansion and renovation.
The quilt, each pattern representing a different author or storyteller, was put together and donated by Cindy Stadler. A booklet on each of the different literary figures will be received by the raffle winner alongside the quilt..
The quilt itself began as a therapeutic project for Stadler while she was fighting breast cancer.
“It took probably somewhere between six to eight months,” she said. “Because, you know, I couldn’t sew every day, and I didn’t do the final finish on it.” That final finish, involving addition of batting and backing, was machine quilted by Linda Chase Hasselberg at Wimberley Stitch Studio.
Despite her hard and time-consuming work, as an avid fan and frequent attendee of the library, Stadler was quick to donate the project in support… especially knowing its literary theme.
Raffle tickets may be purchased at the library between April 17 and June 17. Tickets are one for $1 or six for $5.
