The Wimberley View announces new editor

Madi Telschow has been named the newest editor of The Wimberley View.

Madi Telschow has been named the newest editor of The Wimberley View.

Telschow took over as interim editor of the View in November 2022. She initially joined the Dripping Springs Century News as a staff reporter in August of 2021 and was promoted to editor in August of 2022. In her new position, she will continue her role as editor of both publications, which are managed by San Marcos Publishing, LP.

“We’re proud to remove the interim title and officially name Madi as the next editor of the Wimberley View,” Publisher Dalton Sweat said. “In her time with both the View and our sister paper The Century News, she has proven to be a strong news writer who also understands what it means to be a small-town, community newspaper. This paper has a strong reputation in both our community and in newspaper circles across the state of Texas, and I’m confident Madi will help us continue to meet and exceed those expectations.”

Telschow came to Hays County from Texas A&M University in College Station, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English with minors in communication and journalism. While completing her degree, she also worked as an editorial assistant for Insite Brazos Valley Magazine and as a freelance writer for The Battalion.

“Working as a local, community journalist has one of the greatest honors for me,” Telschow said. “Becoming involved with the Wimberley community has been incredibly enjoyable, and I am excited to continue to do so. I have long been passionate about engaging and informing those around me, and I am excited to see how my new position enables me to do so even more.”
