This weekend, the future was once again on display at the Wimberley High School campus for its annual STEAM Fair.
For another year, the WHS campus became a showplace of the students and the STEAM subjects. The event took place on Saturday, March 4, featuring exhibitors from all aspects of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. These included Wimberley businesses, universities and tech schools and nonprofit organizations, with financial support via a grant from the Wimberley Education Foundation.
According to a statement from Wimberley ISD: “The purpose of the fair is to provide hands-on opportunities for students to see the various aspects and real-world applications of STEAM-related industries and companies. There is also a great exposure opportunity for businesses that wish to share their applications with interested students.”
The fair allowed not only the Career and Technical Education department at WHS but also other campus departments to showcase the programs and opportunities students in WISD have. According to faculty, it provided a way of networking to help advance practicum programs for the future and allowed the opportunity for community members to tap into those practicum resources.
