As announced last month, The Wimberley Players planned to launch a new community outreach initiative offering 20 free tickets to randomly selected local businesses or organizations for the opening weekend of each of their five 2023 season productions. The Wimberley Community Civic Club was the first to receive this prize.
On Feb. 10, the Players announced the WCCC had been selected to be the first to receive tickets from this initiative for their production of “The Importance of Being Earnest,” which opened on Feb. 24.
“The response was tremendous,” said Karin Cunningham, the Players’ vice president of marketing. “Several civic club members took advantage of the offer, some of whom had never attended our theater.”
Those interested in being considered to receive these tickets can submit their requests by emailing marketing@ wimberleyplayers. org. The next production eligible for free tickets is “Sense & Sensibility,” opening April 28. The available opening weekend free ticket performances are only for Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
