Application for Civic Club grant opens March 1

The Wimberley Community Civic Club begins accepting applications for grants from nonprofits on March 1.

The Wimberley Community Civic Club begins accepting applications for grants from nonprofits on March 1.

Any nonprofit serving the Wimberley Valley that can provide documentation of its 501(c) (3) status is eligible. WCCC will consider requests up to $5,000 and the deadline to complete applications is March 17.

Applicants are selected on how well the nonprofit supports the Civic Club’s core value of serving and strengthening the Wimberley Valley community. The applicants’ need for funding is also taken into account as well as how the applying organization has supported the Civic Club in the previous year with volunteers, in-kind donations and other help. The application, an online form, and guidelines for submission were posted on the WCCC website: wimberleyccc. org. For more information, contact Elaine Cardenas, WCCC donations committee chair, at elacard@aol. com. Put “WCCC Funding” in the subject line of the email. The proceeds from all WCCC activities and events go to fund area nonprofits and scholarships. The Civic Club hosts annual events, such as the Home Tour, Spring Events, Talk of The Town dances and concerts, the Woodcreek Golf Tournament and the annual Mystery Dinner.
