Ceremony Botanical Studio was recently recognized by Wimberley City Council with the city’s prestigious Community Excellence Award.
The honor was awarded at the City Council meeting on Thursday, Dec. 15, for Ceremony’s initiative in transforming Wimberley’s downtown area with its distinctive landscape designs.
In 2020, Willis Rothelle and Everett Robuck took over the business facing old Kyle Road near the Square, expanding its scope to create inviting public spaces and a unique streetscape.
“The Ceremony aesthetic has spread throughout Wimberley, whether it is designed by the team or interpreted by other designers or property owners,” noted Mayor Pro Tem Rebecca Minnick, who nominated Ceremony for the award.
Not only does the team host workshops and do landscape design as part of their business, the owners serve the Wimberley community with donations, volunteer hours and advice.
“Will, Everett and their team have enhanced Wimberley as a destination and added to the beauty of our entire community,” Minnick added.
The inscription on the award plaque reads: “In recognition of your initiative and talent in transforming our Square with your innovative landscape design vision.”
The Community Excellence Award was established this year by the City Council to highlight groups, businesses or individuals who have distinguished themselves in Wimberley through service, creativity and/or improvement projects that enhance the community in a significant or unique way.
