This year’s seventh annual Wimberley Winter Wonderland came and went this past weekend, bringing good cheer to adults and children alike.
The event took place Dec. 2 and 3 at the Wimberley Community Center with decorated, full-size Christmas trees, tabletop trees, wreaths and table arrangements in celebration of the holiday season. These were donated by a local business, non-profit organization or individual and sold as part of a silent auction with nativity sets, original artwork and other items.
Vendor tables were also scattered throughout with local businesses and artists selling their wares.
The event kicked off on Friday with Adult Only Night from 5 to 7 p.m. This featured complimentary wine and snacks, along with live entertainment from local musician Jennifer Zavaleta.
The event continued on Saturday with Family Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This portion of the event had a little something for everyone with face painting, balloon art and a meet and greet with Santa for kids and live music, food and beverages for all. Free rides in a horse drawn carriage were also available this year, sponsored by Square Inn.
Each year, the chamber puts together a raffle tree made up not only of gift cards but also items donated by local vendors, artists and businesses. This year’s tree was valued over $1,300.
