The Wimberley Players announce the first production of its 2024 Season, “Shakespeare in Love,” that opens February 23 and continues weekends through March 17.

Currents at its latitude meet no resistance from any landmass and waves top 40 feet, giving the passage a reputation for being the location of the most powerful convergence of seas. More than 800 ships are believed to have succumbed to its waters. More than 20,000 sailors are believed to have perished in the area.

Texas gained more jobs than any other state in the previous decade from businesses relocating from other parts of the country, according to a report published Friday by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

Marlayna Zachary, Assistant Principal of Jacob’s Well Elementary, has been named the 2024 Region 13 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association. The Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce has initiated an Ambassador Club program. Ambassador volunteers will attend ribbon cuttings, support Chamber events and recommend businesses who would benefit from Chamber membership.

The board of the Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance has voted to discontinue referring to the organization as WVACA in favor of its new name, WimberleyArts.org.
