Healing Fundraiser for King Feed

In partnership with the Wimberley Parks and Recreation Department, a fundraiser to benefit King Feed will be held February 25, from 2 to 4:00 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center. Three sound workers, healers, and wellness practitioners will lead participants in a two hour-long healing event. Called the Sound Bath Journey, leaders include organizer Kathy Lindsey of Hill Country Singing Bowls, Jennifer Zavaleta a musician and founder of Open Space Yoga and Sound, and Buffalo Thunder, a tribal healer and professional percussionist. Participants will relax to the sounds of drumming, native american flute, gongs, and singing bowls.

Gauging from comments from the community, organizer Lindsey noted that there was an outpouring of grief from people over the King Feed fire. Heeding a “little voice inside that told her to do something,” she began organizing an event to help others heal and to release embedded emotions. “ There is so much healing when the community comes together,” she said.

A suggested minimum donation of $20 will be collected at the door. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and bring a chair or yoga mat, blankets, and pillows and any other items that would be helpful for the floor session, as well as water to drink. The community center is located at 14068 RR12.
